法國影星尚雷諾主演

里昂（尚雷諾飾）是一個頂尖的職業殺手

孤獨的住在紐約貧民區，一株盆栽是他最好的朋友

他形容盆栽：「比人友善、跟我一樣沉默、從不會問問題

也不會想殺我、跟我一樣沒有根」

他雖然身懷絕技，但內心非常缺乏安全感

他甚至從不敢睡在床上，而是坐在椅子上睡，並把槍放在手邊

一天，12歲的鄰居女孩瑪蒂達（妮妲莉·寶雯飾）從外歸家

路過走廊之時看清了被血洗的一家大小

機靈地不動聲色忍痛直接走往鄰居里昂敲開他的房門

要求在他家暫避殺身之禍

原來，瑪蒂達當毒販的父親因私吞了一包緝毒署警察黑吃黑的毒品

而遭惡警史丹菲爾誅殺全家
